In David Suzuki’s essay “It Always Costs” he argues that it is up to society to become responsible with future use of technology. Suzuki begins by saying that he believed that scientific literacy is the only way to change how science impacts lives. He utilizes DDT as an example of negative technological effects. Suzuki then explains that his former ideas of scientific literacy were based on faith in predictability, which is unreliable.
