Before starting this course, I have only looked at informatics from the eye of Healthcare provider. While I was working a long term facility, I used to dread using the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) because of lack of resource, connectivity issues and pertinent information that was not available to do my job. Reading the article “Information Technology coming to Medicine’’ by David Blumenthal and John P Glaser was relatable because I have had situations where I was not able work because of many problems that we were experiencing with the system the facility was using. The article helped to understand Health Information Technology (HIT), the use of HIT in healthcare and problems that providers face while using Electronic Health Record (EHR)
