Metaphysical freedom in my view is to do with a different universe than we are not in. Metaphysical freedom is almost saying we have a God like power to choose what we do solely from our prior causes. Circumstantial freedom is just that we are still in this realm and can still make our own decisions but with affects still taking place. We are still in cause and effect but we choose what happens.
Juror one (libertarian): I don’t buy it, this is nonsense! We are in control, circumstantial freedom is ridiculous! Todd is responsible and can change in jail!
Juror three (hard determinist): No! He had no control on what he did, why would he need to go to jail? We are just machines made of flesh and jail will not change his “moral” compass.
Juror two (soft determinist/compatibilist): I think he is morally responsible in this situation, he should go to jail for

In A Lesson Before Dying,an African American man is wrongly convicted of murder. Jefferson's attorney completely dehumanizes Jefferson in order to use reverse psychology on the jury. This was unnecessary because during the 1940’s people of color were never declared innocent even if they were. Basically if you were black no justice would be served. Furthermore, the attorney makes it clear that Jefferson is no where close to being a man and therefore shouldn’t be killed.…

Today, “jury summons is an unwelcome inconvenience” (text 4 line_). It wastes people’s time, jurors that have responsibilities and are uninterested in being a juror may not give a proper decision. Placing individuals in a position of involuntary servitude won’t produce the best results and is unconstitutional. In the process of “forcing everyday people against their will and without pay to serve as jurors robs them of both the competence and the will they need to pursue true justice” (text 3 line _).” The jury system is a violation of human rights that forces individuals into a temporary state of slavery.…

I thought about it after I had awhile to sit and think, and I wonder if others feel the way that I did when I was in the courtroom.…

Set in New York, 12 Angry Men follows twelve jurors as they decide whether or not a young 18-year-old Hispanic boy is guilty for stabbing his father in the chest. In a rather small room, the jurors must reach a unanimous decision, and if there is ‘reasonable doubt,’ the young boy will be freed. In one of the initial scenes, a vote is facilitated where 11 jurors find him guilty, and one juror, juror 8 votes that he is not guilty. He expresses to the group that a discussion needs to be made prior to sending a young boy to the death penalty. There is a lack of evidence which supports why the young 18-year-old boy stabbed his father and in turn leaves some of the minds of the jurors in a place where they are unable to convict within moral certainty.…

He was one of the most timid Juror, and since he shared similar background with the defendant, Juror 8 made personal connection with him and seeked his consultation (consistently asking him for his opinion). After the trial he voted guilty because he felt everyone else thought the same too, he was not the kind of person who had a strong stand like Juror No.8. But at some level he was confident about his decision (guilty) since, he did not change his vote (during the second vote) even after he was insulted by other Jurors about his origin. The reason for not changing his decision maybe he felt that it was not right to let a murderer out in the street because he was offended by other Jurors.…
