It’s a representation of what you see, it’s not a reality, but an understanding. To you, it may look different than it does to anyone else. The goal of impressionist artists was to capture what they understood in that moment, not what others will discern in the future. Throughout all of time, art movements and techniques have flourished during different time periods. Impressionism however, seemingly just another phase in art periods, was a new style, something different, something never done before. How was impressionism started? Who’s the mastermind behind it all? Who are the famous painters that took this dream and made it into a reality for all artists? Many state that Claude Monet, a well-known French painter who lived from 1840-1946, was the instigator behind this glorious art movement.
