Love often brings emotions that stimulates a person’s feelings towards their beloved. However, the brain plays a role in the chemical reactions that are released during an intimacy. Dopamine, for example, makes lovers “concentrate so relentlessly on the positive qualities of the adored one that they easily overlook his or her negative traits (p.52). This feeling of dopamine that causes lovers to become happy effects their actions when talking to their beloved. It changes dramatically because they experience sweaty palms, a pounding heart, and nervousness. Norepinephrine, a drug that stimulates a lover’s brain to remember any small details about their beloved, is also an example of this. It demonstrates how a person who is in romantic relationship can daydream and fantasize about their significant other. Despite the rushed adrenaline, this is important because it improves their attention to always focus on each other.
