In chapter four, Jordan foreseen that Gatsby is afraid of meeting her because he waited too long to see her. Additionally, he is restless and he says that nobody is coming and it is too late although it was just two minutes to four. That indicates his passions and restless. he is nervous and cannot wait anymore; especially when Nick tells the reader that he was "pale as death" and did not even pay attention to the grass when they were talking about it.
