Group Project Reflection

Improved Essays
The group project has changed my life. Captain Planet is the name of my group. Its members are me, Dung Tran, Rodrick Story, and Clare Lunsford. Dung was the closest member to me because since we were members as group he was present all the days. We worked well in our group`s presentation. Specially, we finished the job early, so we had enough time to practice at home, yet we had little problems between us that we communicate with each other differently because we have different culture and communication styles. In fact, these differences have affected our work as group and were very challenging for us, yet we have made significant successes, and I also have learned many things in terms of communication and culture aspects. Therefore, I would …show more content…
First, we have been comfortable with each other, which means that now they communicate with me better than the first time we met as a group. Second, when I met my group`s member in the first week, I thought that the presentation will not be good as much as I want, but we actually did great job in the presentation. Finally, we celebrate our successes by appreciating each other for everything we made.
In addition, I have learned many significant things from my group project. First, I have learned about myself that I have high context culture which means that I see all the aspects of the communication are very important to me. Second, I have learned about our group`s members that we have different values because we are from different culture. In addition, I learned that Dung has critical thinking that he analyses deeply to understand the point unlike the other members who may be silent even if he did not get the point. Third, I have learned about working and communication with my group`s members that the gender and culture aspects have significant effects on the group. Example for the gender, because Clare was the only female in our group, she seemed that she felt a little bit uncomfortable. Example of the culture, Rodrick did not feel comfortable being with different culture. He gave direct answers unlike if Clare asked him, he would

The group project felt important to me, because it gave me a chance to present a topic that was meaningful to me. The topic of my group’s project was anti-racism in protest songs, and showing how many artists took to the stage with their thoughts of equality, attempting to change the way that some people are perceived in this nation. Preparing this project didn’t go without stress or challenges though. My group partners, despite my persistent nagging, procrastinated until the last minute to get any work done, and even though there were five of us in my group, only two people did any significant work on the presentation. As the deadline for the presentation was growing closer, I knew that it was time to act.…

For me the activity of working as a group especially with other individuals who I have not worked with or talked to before was a good learning experience that had both positive and negative outcomes using Driscoll’s model of reflection as a frame work to elaborate on how I interpreted what happened, what impact the situation had on me and what I will do in the future if presented with a similar situation (Driscoll and Teh, 2001). We were required to do a 10 minute presentation for a health promotion project that we developed. I decided to work with other individuals who I didn’t know and have not worked with before as I believed I would be more productive and respectful if I worked with people I didn’t know very well. For the first tutorial…

were given time to work on our group projects. I love that I will be doing my book report and group project about The New Jim Crow because I am passionate about the criminal justice system and advocating for those who are unfairly treated in the justice system. For my groups project, Chloe Mortley, Carmen Brown, and I are supposed to create a Xavier magazine and do a 15-minute presentation. I like that there are only three people in my group because this means that finding a meeting time will be somewhat easy and that we will have different ideas to implement in our project.…

While the video was only appeared once, I found that peer revision time of three to four people was very helpful when I needed to be refreshed of what interpretation meant. The revision groups helped me with my essay and where I could I improve, all while forcing me to ask questions when I am confused. In a way, I was glad because I was more comfortable to speak up about criticisms through them due to the fact that most of them were the same age as me. They had taken chances to explain interpretation through my essay so I would see it better and where I could apply such information to improve for my next revision. Then, when it was my turn to read their papers, I was able to see how they approached their claims through evidence and where they…

For this paper, I will be forming an in-depth analysis of Adrienne Marie Brown’s “Emergent Strategy: Shaping Change, Changing Worlds” based on her critique, vision, and strategy. The main argument that I will present in my paper is bringing the concept of emergent strategy as means of a way for all of us from different backgrounds, identities, and beliefs to become creators of our future together. It is through relationship-building between individuals and communities to find a common ground strategy and make changes at times of emergence. She claims that the short-term strategies that are currently being implemented by some social justice movements are ineffective and that we need to shift that focus to developing long-term strategies through…

I have been taking this class for nearly three months. During three months, I learned a lot about small group communication, especially the group climate and interaction are going well in our group. Our group works well on building and keeping positive attitude to our assignments and supportive climate. Each group member devotes to create an atmosphere that our group is the best group. For instance, our group member Erik and Jo always said some words of praise and encouragement, such as “we are really a good group”.…

Introduction In this reflection, I will focus on some important topics such as, what I learned about individual and business taxation from this course, what was my experience with the group project and what were the challenges that I faced during both the group project and this course. I am also going to add some main overall points that I learned. Tax is generally an amount of money that is charged by a government on a product, income, or activity so that it can pay for public services. In addition, there are several very common types of taxes: • Income Tax (a percentage of individual or corporate earnings filed to the government) • Sales Tax (taxes charged on certain goods and services) • Property Tax (taxes charged on the value of land…
