John Marsden - a writer of over 40 unique novels, and this is his first and arguably best novel So Much To Tell You. The theme of this story is how Marina went through tough times but still managed to achieve what she wanted, even if there are barriers she still did it and0 she eventually spoke. Marsden did a great job showing the individual finding her way, the way he described her and the details that were in this book made it very easy for me as a reader to see her find her way out of this.
Marina is a 14-year-old girl that was hit in the face, a wound given to her in the face by her father. She stayed at the hospital for a long period of time but didn’t able to speak to anyone. Marina has been kicked out of her house by her single mother, that's why she is forced to attend Warrington Boarding School. She’s given a journal to write about her daily things, as the novel unfolds she reveals herself. This novel is very authentic, it shows how Marina found her way of speaking. She claims that she has “anorexia of speech”, this issue has made her feel marginalised because all students were able to speak except for her, she chose not to because like I said earlier she claims that she has “anorexia of speech”. This issue make the novel very genuine, it show what teenagers go through in these type of issue which is very relevant nowadays. I strongly believe that this novel can be used as an educational tool. For example, if you’re trying to teach students people emotions and what they go through these types of issues, this novel will help them understand how a person find their way out of an
