The Importance Of Dicho In Mexican Culture

Cómo me to veo me vi; cómo me vez, te veras, is a famous dicho which denotes, “the way I see you, I once was; the way you see me, you shall one day be!” In other words, the grandchildren mirror their grandparents in a way due to the fact that how their grandparents see them, that’s how the grandparents once were. A dicho is a saying that is ordinarily used by the Hispanic culture, and it is an expression which claims a certain theme, but it has a deeper meaning. Despite the fact that a dicho may be used in divergent societies, it is a significant tradition in Mexican civilizations due to the fact that it can be easily remembered and it seems to have a melody; I personally live in a household in which my grandfather has altered my views on certain issues in light of the fact that he educates me with his memorable expressions, with his dichos.

Helping an individual improve their character is usually approached by an address of the things that can be altered. Mentioning a melodious saying while lecturing can catch the brain's attention and get the individual to begin deliberating the situation. For example, some of the youth in today’s world has unfortunately been affected with a tragic disease which can be determined as obesity. As the author of an article stated, “one of the main reasons for being afflicted with such diseases at a young age is the lack of physical activity and the changes in our eating habits” (“Do yoga”). Dichos could be helpful in this sort of situation to persuade youngsters to be fit in order to transform into a healthier individual.
