Bauer picks apart every part of Stephens's and analyzes and makes sense of the nonsense that Stephens presents. In the third paragraph there is an excellent point made by Bauer about how Stephens "cherry picks" his points and only shows how terrible the lazy and fat native born Americans are whenever there is an even more dire point made about the immigrants living on Government assistance that those lazy and fat Americans pay for with their own tax dollars. Again, another great point made, in the 4th paragraph about the denigration of Native born and the intelligence of immigrants. Yes, they are smarter usually but that doesn't mean that they can function very well in the American life style as well as the Natives. That same point goes for when Americans go to foreign countries as well. Also, just because the Native isn't as smart as the immigrant doesn't mean that they don't have full right either. Everyone deserves it and rightly so. Also, being poor in America and being an American doesn't make you less worthy. Stephens is hinting to this being an actual part of his argument with the statement: " nonimmigrants are failing our country" (Stephens 1).
In Bret Stephens's article, he mentions that the case against the so-called Americans never stops. He says that there is point after point about how we, as native-born citizens, are failing at reproducing offspring to maintain a healthy population for the future of this country. Again, as I have said before, all he produces are facts, good ones. But, the reader see only being mentioned is the percentage of the foreign mothers having children. He doesn't give us the percentage of the
