Analysis Of Blessing: My Best Friend

What do friends look like
Blessing’s definition means “God’s favor and Protection.” Blessing is my best friend. We met in a school bus at Jardine Middle School a couple days after I had come from Mexico. She was quiet and shy, we had assigned seats in the bus, and I ended up with her. We started talking to each other and we became “friends.” Later that year Blessing and I would hang out everyday, during lunch, during passing time, and our favorite part was in the bus because we were usually the last ones to get dropped off so we had a lot of time together. Blessing later on became more open to me, she would tell me about her family problems and her own problems, and I would try to help by telling her about my own experiences and problems as well, she was going through what I had gone through when growing up. As time went by Blessing and I became real close friends. A year, two, four, five and now six years being her friend. I once asked God what was a real friend like and Blessing is became the answer my question.

It was my turn to go to the family and hug them since that was the only thing i was able to do. I had something stuck down my throat that i couldn’t say much.I went to Blessing’s sisters first and her mom too and after i had cried with all of them i was trying to keep Blessing at the end because i knew she was going to be the hardest. Blessing was now a couple feet away and we made eye contact and I busted in tears and while she hugged me she whisper, “is okay Sha, he is now in better hands” the words that i should’ve said to her but i couldn’t she had now said them to me. Give examples of how the practice of ministry has affected your experience and understanding of A) God At the core of my understanding of God is a God of love in covenantal relationship with God’s children. Romans 8:38-39 says it well; “For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” The practice of ministry has only proven to strengthen that belief. I was called early Saturday morning to sit with a family who had just learned of the death of their daughter/granddaughter in a vehicle accident.…

Before I went to the hospital my family and friends tried really hard to keep me calm before this big endeavor that would change my life forever. One of the things they did was talk to my pastor at my church about blessing me before the surgery. My priest blessed me by saying in a holy voice, “Please God protect Emily from all harm during this surgery, and please be with her during this hard experience.” Another wonderful gesture my family did for me was put on a birthday party, since my birthday was only a couple days after my surgery when I would be still recovering. After the celebration came to a close I went upstairs to go to bed, but before I fell asleep my mother came into the room with a gloomy look on her face.…

One day we were talking at lunch and a girl came up to us and started talking to us about herself and how discourteous her friends were to her, of course we told her that she could hang out with us. All three of us had the same class and became best friends quickly, after that I made some friends and I had the best school year of my life. The 6th grader that sat next to me was Destiny who, after 6th grade, went to Somerset but to this day we are still best friends. The crucible was about a lengthy trial which caused many people to open their eyes and see the bigger picture. In my opinion, most have gone through, or will go through, a severe trial during their life that will cause them to change their perspective. For me the trail I experienced which impacted me the most was seeing my little sister in critical condition at the age of two. I was nine and my world turned upside down for what seemed like forever. Although I was young at the time, the thought of not having my little sister in my life impacted me strongly, and led me to mature.…

“Anyone can hide. Facing up to things, working through them, that's what makes you strong” (Dessen). The summer of 2012 was a brutal one – the year we found out my mom has multiple sclerosis, or MS as some people call it. Multiple sclerosis is an auto-immune system disease, which attacks your immune system and has no known cures. My mother being diagnosed with MS was one of my biggest fears, it was nerve-wracking, scary, and even shocking; but I guess you could say it served as a catalyst for my growth into adulthood.…

I went to hug my family because I wanted them to know I loved them a lot. My mom was still crying because she thought we had hit a car; a miscommunication on her part. I did not say anything about her crying because she was a scared mother, and she needed to just cry it out before she could feel better. When I was released from her hug, I watched as the kind man, whose house was near the wreck, and my dad come up with a plan to get the car out of the ditch and onto a car trailer. They both worked to get the hook somewhere on the car, so the winch could pull the car onto the trailer.…
