Comparing with Tom, he already had knowledge and the experiences from society. His innocence are completely destroyed by this cruel society and his cold blooded parents. As it 's shown in the poem, Blake uses the technique of letting the child communicate with the adult, allowing the child to express the suffers he 's been through. His parent made him wear black clothes, and taught him how to sing the note of woe, one side letting him standing in snow the get money, in another side running to the church to pray for god. This poor little boy had seen enough of the cruelness from his parent and the church, the experience from suffering allowed him to know what the world is like, a good understanding of god, churches, and how the king uses our pain to make up a heaven. This is clearly shown in the poem, inside this innocent looking little boy, he already has a understanding of the reality within society, facing the cruelty, he has to accept this, because there is nothing he could do and change for
