Ben Mikaelsen’s Touching Spirit Bear is a novel for young adults. This book is about how a young teen gets banished to an island for a different punishment other than jail. On this island Cole Matthews figures out he's an angry, lonely and irresponsible 15 year old juvenile.

Cole gets into trouble most of the time. He is angry at the world for nothing. He thinks is not scared of anything but when it comes to life threatening events that all starts to change. Will he ever get it through his head that “Anger keeps you lost”. Cole is scared and angry but he also doesn't have anyone to turn to for help or guidance. How is he so post to fix his problems? He can't just scare away the people trying to help. His loneliness keeps him doing things
