The objective of the study is to understand and explore the meaning of the experience of burnout, resilience, work engagement and likewise analyse the change in the levels of these features among the academics’ throughout the period of one semester. Phenomenological research seeks to make known what participants are actually experiencing which is, oblivious to others (Laverty, 2003) and to focus on the building blocks of experiences. This method is inspired by Ricoeur’s philosophy (1976) and has been later developed by Lindseth and Norberg (2004).
