The first Baurmrind’s parenting style is authoritarian parenting style which show low levels of warmth and high levels of control. This parenting style neglect their child, have strict rules, high expectation to follow rules, and obedient. This cause a child(ren) to have low self-esteem, low academic performance, and poor social skills. The second one is permissive parenting style.
This style of parenting has high levels of warmth and low levels of control. The parent is lenient to their child, very affection, and have little to no rules. This child would have poor social skills, less confident, and impulsive behavior. The third parenting style is authoritative. The parent has a high level of warmth and control. The parent support and love their child, but set a clear rule why rules is important. The child can parent come up with rules that the child can do, but if the child did not follow the rule, the child gets consequences. A child with this parenting style will have better social skills, more self-esteem, perform better in academic, and lower delinquency. The final parenting style is uninvolved, when the parent neglects the child. The parent has low levels of warmth and control.
