Nothing But The Truth by AVI, follows the story of a middle school boy, Philip Malloy who hums the National Anthem during class. Philip is introduced as a passionate runner and class clown, a strategy which he uses to help him relate to his teachers. However Miss Narwin is not amused by this behavior and finds it “disruptive”, this conflict between the characters eventually leads to Phillip being unable to join the track team. The events following his inability to join the team includes Phil is switched into Ms Narwin’s homeroom and being sent to the assistant principal's office for causing a “disturbance” by humming to the national anthem (the prior mention homeroom).
