Ha has experienced war in her home and plus she loses a person close to her which makes her a perfect example of refugee experience. In Inside Out And Back Again, page 12, stanza 1-2, says, “Father left home on a navy mission...nine years ago when I was almost one. He was captured on route 1 by moped.” And the same thing almost happened to Emil from Children of War, he says, “the war affected my father much more because he was held for for seven months in a concentration camp, and he went a little the crazy.” This shows how Ha is an example of the refugee experience because she lost her dad in action. Every refugee, almost all refugees lose someone closes to them, which affects their lives, some think that they cannot see a future for themselves because they have no one to guide through their mistakes, no one to shout at them when they go wrong. Every child needs a dad in their lives, a person that is going to show them love, kindness, and compassion. There is a mother but sometimes one person is not enough either way the mother is going to be busy when refugee’s lives are turned back again and if that happens then who is going to be there for the child when he or she comes back from school. Ha is now shown to be an example of the refugee experience she too lost someone closes to
