The Death Penalty has been an issue throughout history in multiple countries, including the U.S.. The majority of the citizens (61%) believe that punishment other than death would be better. There is reason to believe that the Death Penalty can be good for two main reasons. It keeps punishments equal to crime, and our nation tries very hard to make sure they are guilty for sure, and so far they have succeeded. The reason the debate is happening is because people interpret the U.S. Constitution differently. According to the Constitution, it states, “...nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property without due process of law…”. If you think about it, we already confiscate property if a law is broken, so why can’t we take away their life too? …show more content…
