The cultural difference between first and second generation is a common problem in immigration family and many people don 't know how to solve it. Many second generation feel that they don 't have connection with their own culture and they also think that their parent don 't understand them. Amy Tan 's The Joy Luck Club is a novel focuses on Chinese American Immigration families. It describes the cultural difference between first and second generations and talks about the family relationship in Chinese American families. The Joy Luck Club uses 4 Chinese American immigrant families to shows how they achieve their American dream and how their second generation find the balance between American culture and their own Chinese culture. The book focuses on showing the cultural difference between first generation and second generation in Chinese American families. The TV show Fresh off the boat is also focuses on Chinese immigration family and shows the cultural difference between first and second generation. Fresh off the boat is a American situation comedy and it is also the first American sitcom talks about Asian-American family. The TV show uses a funny way to show the cultural difference between two generations and how they solve it.
