Chapter 7 explains the phenomenon of unequal pleasures between men and women consumed with hook up culture. There is an orgasm gap. In hook-up culture, the male orgasm is the pinnacle of the sexual act. There is no to little reciprocity involved in the arrangement. Men only feel the need to give a woman an orgasm if they are his girlfriend. One night-stands are not for women who desire orgasms.
A woman is judged on everything by everybody, and even herself. Her hair, clothes, if she is too fat/skinny, even what her vagina looks/smells/tastes like is harshly considered. The men feel they are entitled to their space, and the “chosen” women are invited to the more secluded parts of the house, and they feel entitled to any action they want because women have already “consented” by just being there.
Women feel disgusted by the objectification by men, but they also crave it. Women start to self-objectify because they want to feel wanted. They see themselves through the eyes of others. If they want to be attractive to men they are focused on how they look at all times.

Sexual assault is much higher on campus for various reasons. The college party scene is viewed as women already giving consent because everybody already knows what is going on in the party. Rapes are committed by psychopaths as well as “good guys.” First, the party scene is perfect for psychopaths because it allows them to hide in plain site. They may give women more alcohol than they asked for to get the further intoxicated and to take advantage of them. For the good guys, who would normally never take advantage in this way, are put into an environment that exudes rape culture.
