Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation: Case Study

Part Three – In-Depth Evaluation/Assessment It was with great difficulty researching Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF), simply due to the nature of the organization. It seemed that every personal story on the site had a horrible, and predictable ending. Much of the research phase of this nonprofit was accompanied with tears for those who have lost their battle to a relentless adversary and regret for their families who had to continue on without them. It was for this reason that ALSF was not on the original list of potential nonprofit organizations which would be considered for this part of the assignment; however, with every new link discovered on their website, although met with tears and grief, it brought inspiration and a desire to learn more, and even do more, for ALSF. Specifically, the nonprofit should be able to outline to the corporate sponsor how the two can mutually benefit each other (Worth, 2014, p. 268). One of the most obvious corporate sponsors aligned with ALSF is Country Time Lemonade. Although they have only contributed a little over $800,000 in monetary donations since 2005, they are identified as a top sponsor for ALSF. This may not appear correct since other organizations such as Rita’s Italian Ice has raised and contributed over $4.5 million in the same amount of time; however, what Country Time Lemonade lack in financial donations, they make up in product contributions. According to ALSF, Country Time Lemonade regularly donates their lemonade to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation Events (“Country Time”, n.d.).
