In Scene 4 of Romeo and Juliet, Friar gives Juliet a potion which is supposed to help her and Romeo stay together. In scene one Friar gives Juliet a potion and tells her to drink it when she is about to go to bed. The potion is supposed to make it look like Juliet has died. After receiving the potion Juliet goes home and apologizes to her father. She tells him she will marry Paris. Later that night when Juliet is alone she takes the potion. In scene four it jumps to Lady Capulet getting ready for the wedding that now has been bumped up to Wednesday. The morning after the nurse heads to Juliet room to wake her up only to find her “dead.”
