While going through this lab we will see the inside of a shell-less egg. The way that the egg lost its shell is because the egg was prepared in advance. The way that the egg was prepared in advance was because the teacher soaked the eggs in vinegar for about two days. The reason why the teacher soaked the eggs in nothing but vinegar for 2 days was because, when the eggs soaked in vinegar for 2 days, it made them like water balloons. Soaking the eggs in vinegar for 2 days is very important in this lab. The reason why it is very important to soak the eggs in vinegar for 2 days is so that it removes the shell from the egg and you can rub the membrane to see the nucleus. The materials that you will need for the lab will be a raw egg that has been soaking in vinegar for 2 days. A red solo cup or a plastic cup, the difficulty that we had with this material was, my hand was too small to fit inside the cup. Another material that you will need is the scale and weigh boat, we didn’t have any difficulties with these materials. The last material that you will need for this lab will be the corn syrup, we also didn’t have any difficulties.

The weight changed after we put the egg into warm water. The mass of the egg increased to 79.56 grams when it was left in warm water for 15 minutes. After the egg was left for 24 hours in warm water, the mass increased to 85.59 grams. When we put the egg into the corn syrup the next day and let it sit there for 15 minutes, the weight of the egg decreased to 80.94 grams. The mass of the egg drastically changed when it was left in the corn syrup for 24 hours. The mass of the egg went from 80.94 grams to 48.98 grams after being left in the corn syrup for 24
