Analysis Of A Love Story By Kelly Link

Decent Essays
I was a little confused with this story, when it comes the faces having a connection to Egyptian culture and it was difficult to understand. In addition, I was not for sure if everyone was sleeping together and it was a problem. Furthermore, the story seems to be significantly all over the place. Then, after reading the first page, I was thinking that this story would be about someone being in extracurricular or Athletic programs, which will lead to a love story. Kelly Link did not fulfill my promise; as I stated she took me on a whole other fictional adventures. It did not fulfill my promise because for one it was about girls being pyramids and boys collecting objects. However, I can see multiple topics that a reader can write about.

John Frederick Nims’ “Love Poem” is a poem describing someone he loves. The first line of the poem, “My clumsiest dear, whose hands shipwreck vases”, at first may be interpreted as the start of some form of insult. This line also intrigues the reader to continue and explore what Nims has to say about his “dear”. Though the poem begins by depicting some negative attributes that his love possesses, Nims doesn’t forget to describe her positive attributes, “Only with words and people and love you move at ease”. Overall the poem uses different elements of poetry to portray the idea that although his “dear” has many imperfect qualities, he loves her despite of them all.…

Love, according to Webster, is “a strong affection for another arising out of kinship or personal ties.”. For some, this definition of love expresses the way people develop a mutual understanding of one another to attain a level many are unable to reach. Others may believe love can happen by the chance of a glimpse and bind them together by that unknown force without any preceding knowledge of the person. In The Canterbury Tales by Geoffrey Chaucer, the “Knight's Tale” shows that love is greater than any other power. Chaucer composed the tale to convey the idea that love brings about unforeseen outcomes.…
