Memorable book: A Long Way Gone In the memoir A Long Way Gone by Ishmael Beah, Ishmael is the most memorable character. He shows strength, courage, and fearlessness. Ishmael fought for his life, and almost lost it at times. He is strong for not giving up, he is fearless because he fought for what he thought was right, and he is courageous because he put his story into the world. Ishmael overcame the obstacles he faced in the end, but this does not mean what he face was easy. First he left his home with his friends and brother, thinking he would come back home to see his family. Next thing he knew he was running from the war, Ishmael soon lost his friends and was on his own. He had gotten chased by wild pigs, been starved,and deprived of water
