A Dog’s Purpose, by W. Bruce Cameron, is a dog with multiple lives trying to find is purpose in life. First, he is a stray mutt named toby in dusty Mexico living with a group of approximately 20 other dogs. Next, he is a pet dog for a boy named Bailey. As a pet dog he lived for many happy years. After that he is a search and rescue dog named Ellie and lived with two different people. Lastly, he is a labrador retriever puppy with a terrible family. He escapes and finds the boy that he knew as Bailey and lives with him now that the boy is old. By his side, the boy dies peacefully knowing that Bailey was beside him. Everything has a purpose in life. However, it is what you do to fulfill that purpose that makes you a good person.
