Who likes unjust taxation and financial restraint? Do you? I know myself, as a Daughter of Liberty, am appalled by these events. We are working to fight against the imposters of the taxation and restraint, you guessed it, Great Britain itself! If we do not rise to the fight, what makes you think these outrageous laws and financial curtailments won’t continue as long as we live? What’s new about that? The amount, the severity, the rate? Everything! The list of taxes that have been imposed on us by Britain goes on and on! We have the Stamp Act, Quartering Act, Declaratory Act, and the Townshend Acts, just to name a few. Why am I furious about these you ask? Not only am I generally upset about being taxed by Parliament, but moreover that we were taxed without our consent. We are not allowed to send representatives to Parliament to speak for us, making us in denial of our rights as Englishmen and women. We, the Sons and Daughters of Liberty, have founded the phrase “No taxation without representation.” The colonists should be directly represented in Parliament instead of being virtually represented by Parliament. How do they know what is best for us in the colonies if they are never here?! It is only fair that we have a representative in Parliament if we are getting …show more content…

It proclaims that the three unalienable rights of every colonist are Life, Liberty, and The Pursuit of Happiness. The Grievances are a compiled list of everything the King and Parliament have done wrong. A few of these include the amount of taxes he has imposed on us, his bias towards Britain in terms of court cases, taxes, etc, and the lack of our representation in Parliament.
