In the first paragraph of her speech she gives a little story that starts you off with an idea of what her speeches point is. I believe she structured her speech as an anecdote. She then talks about a problem most of us have been through (including her), which is going through the school education and coming out not knowing most of the stuff we learned. By doing this most people understand what she's talking about and now we all get an idea of what her speech is really about. She believes the school system doesn't teach you that well but instead teaches you how to use your time to study and memorize things the best.
