Analysis: Does Gym Help Students Perform Better In All Their Classes

In recent years, many people are starting to think that physical education in schools is not very important, but studies show otherwise. This has lead to multiple people wondering if slashing P.E. out of the schools program would even make a difference. A new study has shown that students who are physically fit, absorb and retain new information more effectively than those who don’t exercise at all, which proves that physical education needs to stay in the school system. Co-author Charles Hillman, a professor of kinesiology at the University of Illinois states, “Schools, where children spend so many of their waking hours, provide the most logical and logistically plausible place for them to get such exercise and reducing or eliminating physical education in schools, as it often done in tight financial times, may not be the best way to ensure educational success among our young people.” This shows that it is important to have P.E. because it gives students a break during their classes and helps them get healthier and fit. Also, having those long school days, it helps when there is a break where you can be active and get all the energy out.
All in all, it is important to see how much physical education has an impact on students. From, listening better, grades increasing, and staying fit, shows all the advantages of having this class. Even though this is a very debatable topic, it is obvious how much kids need this as a class. All the studies and tests have also proven this.
