Analysis: Chapter Seven Out Loud To The Students

Teaching Prompt: Teacher will read chapter seven out loud to the students. The students as a class will discuss what emotions were evoked in chapter seven.
Activity: Students will select one emotion and create a 3-D mask that evokes the emotion. The students will then write about their mask in no more than five sentences explaining what emotion they chose and how they conveyed it in their mask. Supporting common core standards are determining the meaning of words, writing informative text, and visual displays to presentations.
I chose this chapter because it is the climax of the novel. In this chapter is when Andrew’s harmonica is broken and he evokes a new persona. This chapter starts the quest to figure out why Andrew is acting the way he
