Tale of Two Valleys Assignment According to the attached file, “‘2015 Santa Clara County Office of Human Relations’ report, ‘A Tale of Two Valleys,’” there many six issues here in Silicon Valley. The County report addresses six quality of life issues including housing, working conditions, parent working multiple jobs and its impact to children, health, voices of very poor, and wage and income inequity. Out of the six county hot issues, I choose housing, working conditions, and health. Also, of the issues provided in our notes, under “II. Poverty,” I choose food and hunger, sickness and disease, and the concentration of misery in cities. I chose these three county issues specifically, because I can relate to how housing has become increasingly expensive through the years. Moreover, I can connect to the working conditions due to my mother having to work overtime many days a week just so that our family can manage to pay bills on time. Additionally, I chose these three worldwide issues, because I have an affinity for these kinds of problems. I personally did not have to undergo these issues to the extreme. I am thankful and fortunate for the kind of lifestyle I have and for my parent’s hard work so that they can provide shelter, food, and good health. …show more content…
Feeding America is the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief charity. This human service agency will help hunger across the world. I feel that the only major difference between the kind of help people in the County of Santa Clara receive to deal with my three issues and nationwide is the amount of help our county gets.
