While reviewing the literature regarding school zones and speeding issues that occur within school zones, there were several recurrent themes: speed, signage, and signals. Although there has been a gradual increase in research completed on school zone efficiency itself, there has been little to no empirical research completed concerning police personnel within the school zone due to the lack of data gathered from police agencies.
