Analyse The Ability To Work In A Class

Improved Essays
In regard to my groups ability to work well together, I believe my group did in fact work well to plan and execute the exercise we presented to the class last Thursday. Our process started by researching and forming ideas on our own. Then, we came together and decided on what idea we thought would work best with the class. When it came time for us to conduct the exercise with the class, we both contributed in explaining the objectives of the exercise and what expectations we had for the groups. The exercise proceeded as we hoped it would. We were nervous when choosing this exercise, the class would not catch on right away to what they needed to do. We didn’t expect the students to use many specific problem-solving techniques; we knew that most of them probably didn’t read the chapter before-hand. We prepared for that by providing questions at the end of the exercise to have them think of ways they could have incorporated specific techniques. In the end, they understood and completed the task with flying colors. They discovered they needed to work together. …show more content…
Though the groups did not use some of the problem-solving techniques mentioned in the book in the simulated experience, we did go through some of them at the end of the exercise and had them explain how they may have used that technique to solve the problem. We did not want to give away too many details to the groups, as it would have interfered with the effectiveness of the exercise. If we had explained problem solving techniques before they completed the exercise, it would have made it to easy. We would not have seen the natural progression and creativity the group used during the

In this process, the student first solves the problem and verbalizes the processes used, then writes he step-by-step process and identifies it on the model.” (Miles and Forchs, p. 6). While the teacher is helping the student along, he or she can monitor what areas the student might be struggling with. If the teacher is instructing a large classroom, this strategy might be better done in small groups. There is considerable evidence to indicate a that verbalizing upper level math problems has a pos6itive impact.…

First, what worked well was how our group integrated our individual skills together to complete the project. When we introduced ourselves and what our concentrations were, it was easy to determine what roles and responsibilities we would take on. We worked individually on our tasks before meeting together and integrating everything into the final product. The problems that arose primarily concerned communication and scheduling group meetings.…

In the article, “Uncovering Student’s Concept of Matter”, author Paige Keeley discusses the importance of helping students understand the concepts of matter. Keeley states that while children form their own concepts of matter at an early age, they still need assistance on the harder more abstract concepts. There were three main strengths that I found in the article: first the teacher must listen to the students and their ideas concerning matter, then the teacher should provide students examples of different types of matter and gather their feedback on those and lastly remind the students to use the different types of evidence to show that matter exists. The reason I chose listening to the students as a strength is because I feel that it is important to see what the students already know so that you know where to start in teaching them.…

There are two parts to group work that I found to be incredibly important to success, which are, communication and organization. In regards to communication, being able to effectively lay out what we need to accomplish and what is left to accomplish is essential to a quick and painless process. I feel like Alex and I communicated quite effectively, making this project quite simple. As for organization, laying out the each sides goals is necessary to be able to fill a role. In all, as long as we communicated clearly what each side needed to do, I feel that each can fill their obligation without much…

It goes without saying that this was a unique experience that forced us to take a task and that we do daily or often and observe it very carefully in order to explore the differences between acting and reality and how to unify the two. Taking a task as simple as making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich or cleaning a fish tank and breaking it up into detailed steps was more difficult than I had imagined, but it forced me to put my every day life under the magnifying glass and understand how I do thing and how I change little details in my life in order to fit the situation of the day. To begin with, it was difficult to choose a two-minute task that I knew I could break down fairly easily to show the class that would fulfill all of the expectations…

For our group project, I was teamed up with Jordin, Jon, and Levi. I thought our group worked well together, we met when we coordinated to meet and accomplished what we needed to. We had to work fast and efficiently, since we had not met before the break. Everything was evenly divided up and then we started to do our parts individually. We all did our parts that we were assigned to do, and I think we did a good job of coordinating them together.…

I was definitely not the best partner to work with this week as I was on vacation until Saturday morning and had little time on my computer. However, Yoselin was super understanding and we used text messaging to have the most efficient conversations about our project. As for group work, I am usually against the idea because I tend to be an introvert who wants to have all the control of what is being submitted. It is sometimes difficult for members of a group to have equal responsibilities.…

The students are working on using the proper form for these skills to prevent injury and build strength properly. The students are assessing each other for the critical elements which relates to movement patterns because they are looking for ways to correct their peers movements. Once they are able to understand what the correct movement pattern should look like for bench pressing and deadlifting, it can help them in their own movement. Once the students are able to display 3 out of the 4 critical elements for the two skills I know that they have developed the competence in the psychomotor objective. The affective objective for lesson two is the students will discuss with their partners the critical elements they are not displaying.…

We have managements skills, mathematic and language skills, professionalism, communication skills, and several more all complementing each other to form a well-rounded collection. I learned that everyone had the same vision (pg. 495), which was set on achieving a high grade. Even when a group member was added, social loafing (pg. 271) did not occur proving our dedication.…
