The second point that I found to be important is social integration because while you can learn a lot by studying one person you can also learn a lot more by how they interact with other people or how they react when they don’t interact with…
Now that I’m more aware of my way of understanding and receiving information I can be a more intentional learning. Being able to utilize my critical reading and writing skills I can be more successful in making it through school. Before I knew my pattern of learning, I would just read a lot of information without decoding how I can apply it for better…
For the class variable, I measured the number of emails I sent vs how many I receive. I decided to measure my school email instead of my personal email because I send more emails on my school email than personal email. One of my personal variables, I collected data on how many hours I listen to music at home vs. school. I counted this variable by having a stopwatch start as soon as the song started. I would pause the stopwatch when I press pause on the song at the end of the day or when school is over.…
Rough Draft In “Brainology”, Carol Dweck talks about how the many different types of students work for their educational goals. Also how many of them go through workshops to experiment in the project Dweck is trying to make everyone realize. As for me, I am slightly different from the students Dweck talks about, I only have one other sibling going to school that knows what I have to go through. Throughout my life I’ve experienced many lectures by the people I love and by strangers, but little did I know that their advice was going to help me in the near future…
Evaluate how the principles of training have been used in this training program for the running event. There are various principles of training that athletes take into account when maximising or improving their training/ performance. This 18-year-old athlete who is training for a 14km running event uses the principles of training to prepare mentally and physically for this event. All six principles of training have been integrated in this program however, only three are significantly used; Progressive Overload, Training Thresholds and Variety. Progressive Overload is the principle that enhances performance by providing a constant challenge to the body.…
Lesson 6 Learning Assessment For the evaluation of the Agency Culture Assessment, I am doing it on Children’s Hope Foster Family Agency on the program Transitional Housing Program (THP). Doing a qualitative approach is actually simple with the THP clients. I will consider doing a 12-month research since that is the average time that the youth stay in the program. For the key informants, I would choose social workers outside the agency who are knowledgeable of the THP population and people who are knowledgeable on how to conduct a qualitative approach.…
My journey to Delaware Valley University has all lead up to my dream of becoming a veterinarian. When asked to create an action plan in Del Val experience about a professional goal I instantly knew what I would write about. My professional goal is to get accepted into the veterinary school of my choice. To accomplish this I will break my goal into three smaller steps. First I will focus on getting at least 400 hours of experience interning with a veterinarian by my senior year; this simplifies to getting 100 hours each year I attend Delaware Valley University.…
Everybody has a special quality about themselves that determines their individuality. Education helps us to realize our strength and weakness, college education stimulates personal growth and development. It also us teaches about team work, Communication and leadership. “In reality, however, students are eager to learn and develop greater expertise when given opportunities to do so” (Neuman, par.31). We should grab these opportunities to increase our understanding about the community and to explore interest and discover new areas of knowledge and this will help us to set lifelong goals.…
“Every story has an end, but in life every ending is just a new beginning.” -Dakota Fanning This quote reflects my high school experience because I thought that once I finished middle school it would have been the end of my journey. Of course I was wrong, it was only the beginning.…
My mission statement for this school year is to be prepared for college. In order to do so, I need to keep getting A at school and practise my independent skill for my college life. The college that I want to go to is UCLA, which is very selective. Even though I know it’s competitive , I still want to try my best and try to get in.…
Like Prov. 27:17 said “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another” (NIV). Every good student desires a high level of academic excellence that…
g a registered nurse anesthetist (Becoming a CRNA, n.d.). The Fundamental Beginning to my College Career While attending college, students realize how much previous schooling has affected their current strengths and weaknesses in the educational environment. During my time in EDUC 1300, I have gained and refurbished many skills not only necessary for the remainder of my college education, but also required for my place in the workforce in the near future. As a class, we tackled many topics to aid self-development such as learning studying methods and determining different types of personalities we each possessed.…
Learning occurs as we integrate information from external sources, give it meaning and process then encode it internally. Ideally for learning to occur this needs to happen without distraction or a movement in attention. Mind wandering occurs when our attention has been directed elsewhere from the topic or task in front of us, often internally, and we experience a range of thoughts that do not remain on the same topic for a prolonged period of time. Particularly occurring when an individual is engaged in an attention-demanding task. Mind wandering represents a state of decoupled attention and is considered to impair the encoding of information, which can then prevent correct recall.…
In order to be a successful world class engineering student, and further enjoy your educational experience in the process, you need to be relatively self-aware. An example student would understand that learning how to slow down and analyze where they are at in various areas of personal development would be a tremendous help in succeeding in school and in the rest of life. Students who practice and work at being “good students” generally do noticeably better in school, and tend to get more out of their education. The key is to understand that the learning isn’t just in the classroom, at that they way you live outside of school has a direct impact on your education. Your time management skills, study habits, physical and mental health as well…
