Don’t drink the kool aid "Make sure you stay away from the abandoned building," they said. I should have listened. I was in the basement when I notice red liquid splashed into a shadow and I was scared hoping the liquid isn’t what I think it is. I flicked the light switch up hoping my question would be answered but instead a loud *bang* echoed throughout the room and a shower of sparks fell in front of me and I noticed the light exploded.…

“You’ll never leave” is carved faintly into the brick wall of the small jail cell, probably from its last guest. Every day, I started to believe the phrase more and more. I lay on the uncomfortable cot, pretending to be asleep. I’m lonely, but I’m not alone. I can hear him breathing and slowly flipping the pages of the newspaper; I assume it’s…

Throughout the prequel trilogy Anakin’s relationship with Obi-Wan Kenobi takes on this pattern as he idolized him throughout the early episodes, but felt he had outgrown him as the story progressed. Another criteria surfaced more obviously in that Anakin was ridden with self-identity issues. Before surfacing as Darth Vader, Anakin was questioning who he was and where he…

It’s been a day or two since we’ve left this room. I’m lost and enraptured by the fragility surrounding our isolation. I spend much of my time counting things. I count the slats on your window blinds, I count the clothes scattered on your bedroom floor, I count the scars on your body. I count every different language and color I could learn to love you in.…

There is no doubt that I’ve been through a lot. Only 9 years old, and Atticus says I’ve been through more than any adult ever should. The moment you step foot on the field you get that rush of this is where I belong. The bright lights in your face like the blazing sun in your eyes.
