Background Information: Cellular Respiration is the process in which glucose is broken down to produce water molecules and ATP. which stands for adenosine triphosphate, is the only usable form of energy that can be used to fuel the activities and life processes of any organism. There are two main types of cellular respiration: aerobic respiration, and anaerobic respiration. The chemical equation for aerobic respiration is C 6H 12O 6 = 2C 2H 5OH + 2CO 2 + 2ATP, which means that glucose is created when ethanol acid or lactic acid is combined with carbon dioxide and energy (ATP). As the muscles become fatigued, more oxygen is required to help the muscles function properly, in order to ensure that ATP can be supplied. This is anaerobic respiration for the muscles. One of the anaerobic respiration processes is known as fermentation. Fermentation is the process where glucose is broken down without oxygen. There are two types of fermentation: lactic acid fermentation and alcoholic fermentation. Anaerobic respiration in the muscles can make ATP without oxygen in a comparatively quicker time rate, but it produces lactic acid, which creates muscle soreness. Sometimes, muscles can also become unable to relax, under extreme fatigue. There are situations where a person may not be able to maintain the demand or oxygen supply for the muscles, such as when exercising close to nonstop without any rest or any cool down procedures afterwards.

The experiment is investigating what will happen to muscles as muscles get tired. The hypothesis of this experiment was that if both the dominant hand and the non dominant hand are separately used to squeeze the same clothespin for a period of time, then the dominant hand will have a higher average of squeezes than the non dominant hand.

Methods:
Two people will work together, each having one job as either as a squeezer or a timer, and each job will be switched over to the other person when finished with their procedure. As a squeezer, the person must hold a clothespin between the thumb and index finger of their dominant hand, and then count the number of times the person can open and close the clothespin within thirty seconds (the timer will be timing them and writing down the number of squeezes) while holding the other fingers of the hand outward. After counting the number of times the person can squeeze the clothespin, the data must be recorded in the data table, and the same process should be reported nine more times, without any rest. The same process must be repeated for the non dominant hand, and for each
