Steroids are the next generation of cancer treatment but, not exactly the type of steroids you are probably thinking of. In fact, most people do not know that there are actually two different types of steroids available. Perhaps the most infamous kind would be the anabolic steroids. These steroids are illegally used among many males and females in the hopes of gaining an “unnatural” amount of muscle and come with a wide range of side effects. Corticosteroids are produced all over the body and are present in several variations of purposes and functions. One type of corticosteroid found in the body is cortisone, which doctors use to treat the pain and swelling that comes with skin conditions like bad insect bites and skin poisioning.
