Scripture- Hebrews 13:8
Every day that God graces us with the blessing of waking up, we notice changes in all aspects of the world. These changes are highlighted as, but not limited to physical, cultural, climatic, and civic changes. In the midst of all of this change, we serve an unmoving God. Trouble and disaster have come raging, leaving believers and non-believers awestruck at the devastation. But we still serve an unchanging God. The same power, grace, and might that were shed thousands of years ago on the Israelites is still present and accessible today. The Bible declares for us to be in the world and not of the world. As the world fades further from biblical structures it’s important for the church to remain where God has called us to be. Jesus’ life was a clear guide on how God remains the same, and how we should too. I’m sure there were many times where Jesus got tired (and we see the effects) of going along this walk of life. However he never deferred from his call. The call for the church in changing times as such is simply, to not defer from our call. Different aspects of the world are changing to be more convenient to man. These aspects include laws, television programing, advertisements, restaurants and other day to day aspects. As these aspects change God’s standard of holiness remains the same. God’s standard doesn’t change to fit the ease or time of man; the same God that Moses served is the same God that The Disciples served, and is the same God that we serve. His standard of holiness hasn’t changed, and neither has his grace that is given to us every time we fall out of his will. This same grace that was given to the Israelites thousands of years ago, is accessible to us
