An Ordinary Broken Heart Allegory

Every year during February, couples prepare for the holiday in which they can rub their love into every single individual’s face. It’s the time of the year where they pretend that they are perfect together, when, in reality, they probably couldn’t stand the sight of each other a few days prior. For the single individuals, Valentine’s Day is just another reminder that you are alone, as if you didn’t already know that. The true question is, is being alone during this time of year really all that bad? She has the ability to scheme and plan, but also chooses to pry on those who’s mental state has been altered due to their recent tragedy. The narrator has a distinct style of how she plays her waiting room roulette. She observes who she has a chance with and who she doesn’t. After categorizing the people in the waiting room, she then sets her target on someone and makes her move. During this time in the narrative, the author sets a perfect example of imagery by describing the narrator chewing on her jerky stick. In conclusion, this story is a big bundle of tragedy, played out in the most humorous way. The author is clearly a talented individual who is inspired by comedy. She has the ability to tell a flash fiction story is a way that makes you ask questions and want to read more. This story almost mocks the idea of Valentine’s Day, which I personally love. Nothing is ever perfect in a relationship, and Valentine’s Day isn’t going to be any different. The way I think about it, if you love someone you should celebrate it 365 days of the year, not just one. This story is a great representation of just
