Armstrong is a person of many facets and many passions. One of her passions, other than writing, is history. On her website there is question and answer section where she discusses her love for history. Armstrong proclaims to have always being fascinated by the “olden day” even at a young age. In fact the home page of her website begins with a quote of hers saying “History isn’t dusty facts. History is stories—stories about people who came before us. I love writing those stories.” The American Story: 100 True Tales from American History is all well proof enough to prove that she loves history. The American Story: 100 True Tales from American History was published in August 2006, and consist of one hundred authentic American stories taken from a span of over four hundred years of American history. For the year 1972 Armstrong chose to write a story called An Offer He Couldn’t Refuse.
