Findings
Jessica Low was very open to speaking with the researcher. She jumped right into sharing her life story. She illustrated that it was a life she could never have imagined. A world so dark that not even the smallest light could penetrate. She was raised in Chicago, Illinois, and was the oldest in a family of five. She was considered to be in the lower-middle class. She felt that her emotional, psychological, and physical needs were met. She considered herself to be neither popular nor unpopular in high school. She was involved in athletics, band, and other after school activities. She had enrolled in college, and was enjoying her first year when she had met a guy months later who eventually became her boyfriend. At first her boyfriend was kind, affectionate, and was able to say all the right things. However, he soon became emotionally and physically abusive. He decided he wanted to take after his cousin and learn to become a pimp. She was the first girl he started pimping out.

Next, she felt it would be vital to educate them about safety and to teach them survival skills. She proposed that this education should begin in the home. It is the parent’s responsibility to enlighten their children on such subject matters and to not shelter them. She suggested that schools should play a role in providing safety and survival skills to children in classrooms. She admitted shamefully to going to high school and to the first year of college never having been taught safety or survival skills. Globally, she advised that there should be stricter security near the borders of each country.
