An Interview With Steve Jobs Essay

In an interview with Steve Jobs, he explained a personal experience many years ago. Jobs was reading a magazine and came across an article listing the species best suited and able of “locomotion, … [getting] from point A to point B”. Jobs made the inference that humans, a dominating species, were not near to the top of the list. Next, it was tested the ability of locomotion when a human utilized a bicycle. This test immediately made the human dominant on the list. This got Steve thinking “that we humans are tool builders... and that we can fashion tools that amplify these inherent abilities…”. Steve continues to relate this idea to a technological standpoint that “a computer has always been a bicycle of the mind.” A simple magazine article can spur and motivate thinking in such a great innovator as Steve Jobs to apply an idea to his own work. Steve Jobs portrays a man who worked hard to achieve great things, which include transforming and revolutionizing technology, having a charitable spirit, and helping to save the environment, in which all of his life and accomplishments exemplifies that one person can have a major impact on many aspects of society. Steve Jobs is not only an innovator but an artist and visionary in everything he did throughout his life. Steve was critical with detail and simplicity in his products especially, and was meticulous on the friendliness and visual design of all of his products as well.
