a. “It’s too hard to say that there is one important function. For some kids I feel like my job is as it should be to educate them so they have all their ducks in a row at home but, with other kids that are not getting their meals I am their caregiver, I play the parental role. a. “If anything it is more so. I want all my students to feel welcome and safe in my class and sometimes students who come into my class with special needs are timid because they feel left out or different. That is not how I want a student in my class to feel they are part of my family and I feel it is my job to make sure they know that. I want to be here to open them up and let them know it is okay to not have the right answer you are not the only one. By the end of the year my hope for them is to move on to the next grade with more confidence then when they entered my classroom.

If everybody is going at their own speed and not bothering with finding out where the student is or where the other educators are then the student education suffers. The information Mrs. Lawson gave me was helpful because it just verified my feeling teachers should be collaborating with each other and often.
