Carlos’ Christmas
“Ok Carlos! We are going on a date, watch Lauren while we are gone” said Bailey, mother of Lauren. She was wearing a red coat and a red hat with a pair of red shoes. Jack was the father of Baby Lauren, he wore a kaki outfit with a black bottom.

At first, he was hesitant about touching the cold white snow, but he didn’t think about it and ran straight toward what was out there. Carlos nearly slid down a hill on his belly, but instead he slid down on his back. “Ho Ho Ho! Merry Christmas Carlos!” It was Santa! “How did I do? Was I right about the time?” Carlos asked, he was out of breathe. So Carlos and the Saint went into the warm house with a sack full of presents. The sack was full of presents, but not just toys, it also was filled with adult things and cars that everyone good asked for. St. Nick started to give the gifts to the animals and the baby. He gave the mice a lot of blocks for Swiss cheese, Katy a bone and a nice bed, and Carlos gave the cat a sack full of fish. Before they gave the presents, St. Nick sprinkled magical dust to keep them asleep. “And two more to go before I leave,” said Santa. “Wait a second, Lauren gets two gifts from you? How nice!” Carlos assured him. “But if I give Lauren two presents, then what will you get?” he asked. “A present for me? Oh I don’t know Santa, I am not used to receiving, I usually just give.” Carlos explained. “That is why you get a gift” Santa said. Santa gave Lauren a new red hat with her name on it and Carlos sat down in front of Santa and received a beautiful red collar! I don 't believe I have missed a single "Countdown to Christmas" movie this year on the Hallmark Channel nor its sister network Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. While I have my personal favorites, there is no denying that a massive hit this year was their film A Heavenly Christmas starring Eric McCormack, Kristin Davis, and the legendary Shirley MacClaine. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed this film, and when I discovered that Gregg McBride was the screenwriter for this Yuletide treat, I quickly reached out to him for an interview. I was incredibly elated when he responded (and so quickly too). Gregg graciously agreed to answer a few questions about his passion for writing, his personal struggles in his own life, and even a bit about his future…

Upon seeing A Christmas Carol on the night of Friday, November 18th, I had what I thought to be a firm understanding of the Charles Dicken’s classic. It was until the show was over that I realized my previous interpretation was completely senseless, with little to no opinion deriving beyond the script. As I dove into the performance in the Joan C, Edwards playhouse, I made personal connections that I had never made before when watching other adaptions of A Christmas Carol, in particular Scrooge (1970), my father’s favorite. Every detail of this performance aided in my overwhelming positive review, asserting this play as my favorite of all the revisions I have seen.…
