Essay On Community Context Matters

Community Context Matters My intervention is specifically tailored to my community because it is an after school program for high school students. These programs are only made available to high school students because the middle school and high school have different interests and different ways to play sports. I chose this kind of intervention because it is accessible to the students and is a safe organization. Parents will not worry about their kid’s safety since it is in the school grounds. The reason this would work in my population because many students would want a place to exercise and this program would help reduce the cases of obesity.
Community Health Promotion is Political Some of the politics and policies that affect my population is that physical education is only required for two years. This policy affect the student’s daily exercise because they are not required to take P.E. in their last two years of high school. Also around the school there are not much fresh food or healthy foods to buy. Many students would go to liquor stores to buy some chips and soda when they head home. The school will have a club that is responsible for the club and there will be faculty who will facilitate the after school program. There would also be volunteer coaches who would teach the students the sports. Parents also would help with this program because they could help facilitate the activities and would help the school spend less funds in paying for a facilitator.
