Amelia’s aviation journey began after an air show in which she got to ride in an airplane, and she instantly knew she wanted to fly. However, her life journey begins on her Birthday, July 24, 187, in which she was born. Her dad, Edwin Earhart, was an alcoholic did not have a stable job. Amelia’s mother Amelia Otis Earhart, would decide to send her daughter Amelia and her younger sister, Muriel to her mothers because of how unstable things were without Edwin working. Years after playing outside in the dirt and trees, Amelia goes back to her parents in 1908 at the age of 12 in Des Moines, Iowa. She goes to an air show, but ironically shows no interest. Edwin still struggling, and with Amelia’s grandmother passing away, to St. Paul, Minnesota. However Edwin cannot get a job so Amelia and her two daughters leave him and move to Chicago.

She broken records for speed at 181 miles per hour ,altitude of 14,000 feet, altitude of 18,451 feet for autogiro vehicles, and broke her own transcontinental record many times. Her final record breaking attempt however, did not end well. Amelia planned to be the first to be the first to circumnavigate around the equator in 1937. Her first flight had trouble and the aircraft flipped. She had to wait for repairs. She went along with the flight however she never showed up at the airport. Amelia reported that they had low gas and thought they were close to the airport however, this message was delivered too late. Search crews were sent ,but never found her. She was declared to be dead in 1939, two years after the …show more content…
