I came across an episode of Law and Order: Special Victim Unit called “Nationwide Manhunt” season 17, episode 14. In this episode, a man by the name of Greg Yates was arrested and charged with several counts of murder, rape, and torture against women. This show among many others has taught many students the incorrect procedures within criminal justice field. Due to this, professor that teach crime analysis have found that they must help students unlearn what they have witness from television because it displays incorrect information (Neubauer & Fradella, 2014). In my opinion, I think that these shows does not depict the reality of policing or prosecution. I think that these type of shows should be more factual. Especially, since many people are really taking what they are viewing on television and apply these procedures in reality. I think these shows should be structured around more factual
