This is an observation report on an educational lecture program for adults based on classroom teacher performance. The lecture was delivered by a very skillful teacher. The teacher effectively stimulated the class, by respecting the diversity of the learning environment, the diversity of the class, stayed focused on the lecture, contexts and class objectives. The heart and soul of the lecture was the teacher’s rapport with the students, delivery, audio-visual, video, diversity and interaction between the teacher and students. The teacher realized that learning is dependent on the learner as an individual, and how credible and authentic the teacher’s lecturer is to the person. The teacher evoked the emotions and curiosity in the students …show more content…

The teacher related the discussion, subject matter and the relevance of the power point to the class. After the presentation, the teacher then asked for opinions, thoughts, suggestions about anything pertaining to the lecture or anything that was coming up soon, that they would like to share with the class. My observation is that, without the audio-visual, the discussion would not have been as exciting.
At the end of the class lecture, I approached the teacher to give feedback about my observation. The teacher was surprised that I was so detailed in my observation about the students, the lecture and the classroom. The teacher also said to me that this class was one of her best lecturers. Probably, because I was in the class, she said,

The teacher thanked me and said that she had spoken to the student prior about his behavior in the classroom and not reading the material. The teacher was aware of the student and his primary concerns. I think because I took an observational approach, that the teacher was open to the feedback.
Contextual Issues There were no contextual issues and once the students understood the lesson, the feedback from the students was positive. Because the teacher had anticipated that some of the students would not be prepared, the teacher was prepared with the audio-visual using power point and guiding the students through the lecture. The teacher was very skilled in speaker and very knowledgeable of the lecture. I became excited about the lecture and wrote 4 pages of notes. The content and delivery were superbly appropriate for the class. I probably would take the course, once I finish my certificate.
Conclusion
The teacher clearly communicated the objectives to the students, focused and guided their thinking and this helped to motivate participation. The teacher also called the students by

Wednesday, September 16th, 2015 I did my observation of Paul Dunbar Middle School. Some of the first things I noticed when I entered the school was how enormous the school’s population is and how the school was mostly Hispanic and African American students. I arrived at the front desk and was asked by the assistant principal what was my preference of classroom. She then proceeded to take me the section of the school where the ESE classes are held. ESE stands for exceptional student education classes.…

I appreciated the observer noticed: Anne noticed that I have become more confident in my teaching which was something I did not ask her to watch for during her observation. This meant a lot to me that she noticed my growth and the student’s growth. She said the reason why my explanations were so clear was because of my confidence. I have been struggling this semester with having confidence when I teach in tutoring and during practicum. It definitely comes and goes.…

Was the objective specific enough for you to have a focus? - Yes, the objective was specific enough for me to have a focus. I was easily able to describe the impact of inventions, including the cotton gin, the reaper, the steamboat, and the steam locomotive, on life in America. Students were also able to demonstrate their knowledge of westward expansion and reform in America from 1801 to 1861 by describing those same inventions.…

While planning and working on my PSA I decided I want to address an issue that happens frequently especially to people in my generation and that is Texting While Driving. Something is see everyday and hear it and the fatal accidents it causes. And I felt like people specially teengers need to realise the risk of texting while driving. I tried to appeal to the audience’s pathos, using music related to the issue and short video that can make the audience see the issue from a different point of view. The one statistic that stood to me while making this project was that Texting while driving is 6 times more likely to cause an accident than driving drunk.…

As the teaching session progressed, the students remained focused and paid attention to the topics on the PowerPoint and the extra explanations I was saying. They continued to actively participate by answering various questions and completing their notes with the missing key words. The general delivery of the teaching went well as shown by an average SET score of 4.2 for question 1 (Table 1). I spoke in a clear and concise manor which enabled the students to understand my descriptions and explanations of concepts clearly, and allowed them to have enough time to make any extra notes they wanted to write. Many students said that it was a “clear presentation and was easy to understand.”…

Although teaching is a field that is extremely rewarding, it also comes with its share of challenges. These challenges can be overcome, however, if the teacher believes in their students ability to learn, and is able to inspire and motivate them. The teacher can accomplish this task through motivating the students through lessons, tests, and a positive classroom environment. If the teacher is fully committed to their student’s best interests, the classroom will ultimately succeed, even if there are challenges along the way.…

Attention Craig Groeschel, Senior Pastor of Lifechurch.tv, once said, “In order to reach people no one else is reaching, you are going to have to do things no one else is doing.” I believe the same can be said when it comes to education. Technology makes it easy for students to receive instant gratification from the many games, music, and social media that surrounds them. Unfortunately, the lack of these things to keep students engaged in class often leaves students uninterested in classwork. This can lead to low test scores and, devastatingly, a lack of knowledge for the student.…

I was starting to feel like I was missing out on friendships in college, but after this class I know that I have many friends and I made three close friends. This class was also important to me because I was starting to question if I was wasting my time becoming a teacher.…
