An Anchor of Hope for Mankind

If you are reading this, I will assume that you either are convinced enough to have read through nearly this entire tome, or you are concerned enough to have turned here beforehand, because you just want some hope; a silver lining in all this. As strange and as inadequate as it sounds, my response is, “Don’t be afraid. There is hope; for you, for me and for the entire world.” It was the Apostle John who wrote the book of Revelation and he too was afraid. He entered through a doorway and found himself suddenly before the throne of Jehovah God (Rev. 4-5). Can you even imagine? A scroll was presented along an accompanying question asking who was worthy to open the scroll. In ancient times, kings would make an impression with their signet ring into wax seals located on the side of scrolls. This would harden and set. If the wax was broken, it could not be resealed. This assured that only the rightful person would open the scroll. When the scroll was brought out before God’s throne, a voice asked the question, ‘“Who is worthy to open the book and to break its seals?’ And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the book or to look into it.” (Rev 5:3). There seems to have been enough pause for John to react, as if he knew the importance of the seal. No one was found worthy to open and look at the scroll so John fell down and wept bitterly.
