The Picture of Dorian Gray depicts the life of Dorian a young impressionable aristocrat who captures Basil’s artistic imagination and soon becomes a friend to basil. Along with becoming Basil’s friend and muse Dorian meets the famous Lord Henry at one of the painting sessions. Lord Henry is a witty man who enjoys celebrating youth, beauty, and the selfish pursuit of pleasure. Basil reluctantly introduces Dorian to Lord Henry, who soons influences the young Dorian. This paper of The Picture of Dorian Gray will discuss three situations of how Dorian’s actions by being influences have affected his life. The three situations will range from the change of the portrait, to arriving late to dinner and the very last of the view of his name by others around him.

A few months later Dorian has changed for associating with Lord henry and is not the same Dorain at the beginning of the book after attend the theatre a couple of times with lord henry dorian falls in love with a young actress by the name of Sybil Vane. He wishes to marry her and because Lord Henry or Basil have never met her he decide to take them to the theatre where she works to show her off but in actually Sybil performance is horrible which causes Lord henry and Basil to leave but Dorian's stays the whole time hoping she would get better. After she is finished Dorian and her speak in her dressing room where he rudely breaks up with her and leaves. When he arrives home and enters the room where the portrait is kept he notices a cruel smile on the painting now. which it soon dawns on him the curse he said earlier in the book is in fact real.
